Andevine Shiraz 2017 Hunter Valley

Medium bodied, easy to drink and packed with black and red fruit flavours. It benefits from a good airing. Peppery, spice nose.

Austins and Co Spencer Shiraz 2016

A different kind of aroma, very earthy with mushroom flavours, licorice & mulberry tones. Not my personal favourite but I can understand why it suits certain pallets.

Blindside Ripasso Blend 2016

Full-bodied and brimming with jammy fruit, texture from tannins (the stuff in grape skins and seed) and hints of smoke and spice (all the good stuff), these wines have everything. Great for pairing with food with big flavours Blind Side.

Boy Meets Girl Cabernet Merlot 2016

Surprisingly good for such a cheap bottle of wine. Smooth and full flavour. Nice deep red colour and a very pleasant strong bouquet of earthy notes. Classic cab merlot flavour which is smooth yet strong.

Boy Meets Girl Durif 2017

Great stuff, Durif is becoming on of my favourites, with its dry, chocolate, cherry, oak flavours. And at this price it’s good value. Deep plum coloured wine with chocolate nose. Definitely dry and fruity. Good blueberry and plum flavours. This is a good durif.

Boy Meets Girl Shiraz Cabernet 2016

So much better than expected. Quite vibrant in the glass. Nose is ripe, spicy and peppery. Ripe red fruits sit above an intense and spicy base with a big mouth feel. Begins quite earthy and finishes sweet. The Shiraz is very much in the finish. Tastes a few years older than the label. Would be interesting to cellar it. Bring on these cold-climate blends.

Chocolate Cellar Chocolate Red Wine

Wow! Not what I was expecting. It tastes like when you bite into a chocolate covered cherry and the liquor juices coat your taste buds. Too sweet for my taste but if definitely pair it with a chocolate dessert.

Cirillo Old Vine Grenache 2011

Really great wine to find the black currant taste profile with the Grenache. Cherry, savoury flavours. Great food wine.

Engine Room Shiraz Mataro grenache 2016

Nice berry flavours and soft tannins. Very well balanced and value for money. Sweet, plummy and juicy. Dry finish in taste but not in the throat. Nice peppery notes. Angel funded wine

Engine Room Shiraz Tempranillo 2016

This wine has a deep crimson red colour as juicy red fruit combine on the palate to create a gorgwous plum richness with a hint of licorice and herbal subtlety.

Gibson Bridge Sweet 16 Botrytis Pinot Gris 2014 Marlborough New Zealand

This is better than candy, better than... Almost. This is a wow! In a regular PG it’s ~5g residual sugar - here it’s 200g. Imagine this with chocolate-desserts! Honey and dried apricots, almost raisins. There is still a pinch of citrus freshness. We’re told that vintage 2011 is the best ever. Not open for tasting though...

Grant Burge Shiraz Barossa 2018

Deep ruby in colour. Dark fruit on the nose. Medium bodied and off dry. Plum and blackberry with oaks and pepper on the palate. A lengthy, spicy finish with mild tannins and medium acidity. Waitrose. A decent drop. Would buy again.

Heathcote Blauw B.V.O Shiraz 2017

Well made. Classic Heathcote Shiraz. Even though it’s a young red drop, it’s very well balanced and structured. Beautiful deep purple colour with soft tannins. Definitely value for money.

Hidden Creek Shiraz 2017

Blackberry and raspberries on the nose, oak, dark fruit and moderate tannin on the generous body. A big Shiraz. Spicy, fruity and smooth.

Jamieson Run Sauvignon 2014

Consistent. Good wine, easy to drink, unoffensive. Broadly appealing.

Jen Pfeiffer Shiraz The Hero 2016

Garnet in color, with a nose of dark berries and spice. Moderate acidity, mild to moderate tannins, big and bold and juicy. Flavors of blackberries, pepper, currants, wet leather, and cigar box. Moderate to long finish. The longer it sat in the glass and breathed, the more complex the wine became. Great stuff!

Kilikanoon Meymans Shiraz Cabernet 2017

This is a mighty big Shiraz Cab blend – Kilikanoon seem to have a knack of producing reds that are bigger than the average Clare bear.

Mother Of Pearl Cabernet Merlot 2010

Really good wine. Totally different to the '12 cab the 20% merlot has a lot to do with it. Really very good and paid $15 for it

Ottelia Shiraz 2013

A quite nice, medium-bodied, cool climate Shiraz (Mount Benson) with dark red color by John Innes ("with 30 years experience"). With oak, vanilla and slightly chocolate aroma. Currant, raspberry taste with pepper and slightly chocolate finish. Pleasant and with a nice art label. (3.4 Stars)

Pinelli Aged Tawny Port

Beautiful dark colour, rich and flavoursome. Just how an aged tawny should be!!

Pyramids Road Bernies Blend 2018

This blend is a selection of some of the best barrels from our 2018 vintage. This year the blend is made up of one barrel each of Cabernet, Merlot and Petit Verdot. A wonderfully complex wine.
